Where Oscar is a better fit
- Your company already exists and you want the books and the returns done for less: 49 EUR a month on the monthly plan, against 99 EUR for Leap Standard, both without VAT.
- You pay a salary: up to 3 employees are in the Oscar price. In Leap, the first plan that includes an employee is Pro, at 139 EUR a month for 1 employee. For the company of the worked example, that is 49 EUR against 139 EUR a month.
- You send many invoices: sales invoices are unlimited, and up to 100 purchase invoices a month are in the price. Leap Standard allows up to 50 sales and 20 purchase invoices a month.
- You want your books to follow your bank: Oscar reads a connected bank account every day while the company is active, and books the lines as they arrive.
- You want to work on your books from your own tools: Oscar has a remote MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, a public REST API with API keys, and Ask AI in the app. On 11.10.2026 the Xolo pages we checked list no public API, no MCP server and no AI assistant.
- Your company has several shareholders: the Oscar price list sets no limit on them.
- Your company invests or owns real estate: shares in subsidiaries, funds, listed securities, crypto assets, rental income and investment property are booked in the 49 EUR plan. In Leap, investments start with Pro at 139 EUR a month, a controlling share in another company is not allowed, and real estate is not allowed as an investment.
Where Xolo Leap is a better fit
- You do not have a company yet. Xolo registers it online in every Leap plan and advises on the e-Residency application. Oscar works only with a company that is already in the Business Register.[1][2]
- You need a legal address in Estonia. Every Leap plan includes a virtual office with a legal address and a PO box. Oscar does not offer an address.[1]
- You want the company paperwork done by the same provider: registry cards, certificates, a new board member, a change of address or of name, a share capital increase, each for a listed fee, and a company liquidation for 499 EUR.[3][1]
- You sell physical goods on Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, Printful or Printify, or digital services to consumers in other EU countries. The e-commerce add-on (59 EUR a month) covers OSS and IOSS for goods, and Pro and Premium cover OSS for digital services. Oscar does not file OSS returns yet.[1]
- You want the Statistics Estonia reports filed for you. Every Leap plan includes them; Oscar does not offer them.[1]
- You want a provider with a track record in e-Residency companies. Xolo states more than 8 years of e-Residency accounting experience.[1]
Xolo Leap is a service of Xolo for founders who run an Estonian company through e-Residency. Oscar is an accounting service for Estonian companies: the software books the bank lines and the receipts, and our accountants in Tallinn check the books and file the returns. Both keep the books, file the monthly returns and the annual report. They differ in what comes around the books, in the automation, and in the price and limits of each plan.
The table compares the Oscar monthly plan with Leap Standard: the Leap plan for one owner with no time limit and no revenue limit. The Oscar prices are those of the pricing section of our website. The Xolo prices are those of its global English pricing page on 11.10.2026. Every Xolo figure in the table carries the number of its source. Every source is listed with its date at the end of the page.
What each price leaves out
- Units. Both count invoices. The Xolo pricing page calls them transactions, its FAQ counts invoices, and its purchase count includes payments to subcontractors.
- State fees. Registering a company costs state fees on top of any plan: 265 EUR, and 25 EUR plus VAT for the online registration, as the Xolo FAQ lists them. Oscar does not register companies, so it has no such fee.
- Extra fees. Oscar's price list has three extra fees: 0.05 EUR for each purchase invoice above 100 a month, 5 EUR a month for each employee above 3, and 5 EUR a month for each bank account above 4. Xolo lists fees for work outside the plan, for example 200 EUR for a late annual report and 100 EUR for each corrected VAT return or salary tax declaration (TSD). Oscar does not offer company registration, an address, company changes, OSS returns or the Statistics Estonia reports.
- Promotions. Xolo runs promotions on Pro; on 11.10.2026 it offered two months free with a minimum of 6 months. Check its page.
- VAT. Both price lists are without VAT. VAT at 24% is added; a company with a VAT number can usually deduct it.
Is Oscar an alternative to Xolo Leap?
For a company that is already registered, yes: both keep the books, file the VAT return and the salary tax declaration (TSD), and prepare the annual report. For a founder who still has to register the company, get an address and apply for e-Residency, Xolo Leap covers steps that Oscar does not.
Which Leap plan matches the Oscar plan?
Leap Standard. Starter costs less, but only for the first 12 months or until the revenue reaches 4,000 EUR. Pro is the first Leap plan that includes an employee, so a company with salaries compares with Pro at 139 EUR a month, as the worked example below does.
Less usual companies
- Several shareholders. Leap Standard is for 1 shareholder or board member, Pro for up to 2 and Premium for up to 5. The Oscar price list sets no limit.
- Dividends. Oscar books a dividend and declares it in the salary tax declaration (TSD), with its annex 7, in the plan; the Oscar price list has no fee for a dividend.
- Real estate. Oscar books rental income and investment property, at cost or at fair value, in the plan, and keeps real estate for your own use in the fixed asset register with depreciation by Estonian rules. The Xolo FAQ does not allow a Leap company to buy real estate, land or a car as an investment.
- A holding company, shares, funds and crypto. Oscar books shares in subsidiaries, funds, listed securities and crypto assets, in the plan. The Xolo FAQ allows investments in Pro and Premium only: listed shares and funds, crypto for investment only, and a minority stake in a private company, not a controlling share such as a subsidiary.
A worked example
A company with a VAT number, 30 sales invoices and 30 purchase invoices a month, and 1 employee. Prices without VAT.
Which Leap plan. Standard allows 20 purchase invoices a month and includes no employee, so the cheapest Leap plan for this company is Pro: up to 500 sales and 50 purchase invoices a month, and 1 employee. The Xolo FAQ counts invoices, so the salary payment does not count against the limits.
| Item | Oscar, monthly plan | Xolo Leap Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | 49 EUR | 139 EUR |
| 30 sales invoices | in the plan | in the plan (≤ 500) |
| 30 purchase invoices | in the plan (≤ 100) | in the plan (≤ 50) |
| 1 employee: payroll and salary tax declaration | in the plan (≤ 3) | in the plan (1) |
| VAT return | in the plan | in the plan |
| Annual report | in the plan | in the plan |
| A month | 49 EUR | 139 EUR |
| A year | 588 EUR | 1,668 EUR |
Oscar costs 90 EUR a month less, 1,080 EUR a year. On the yearly plan Oscar costs 499 EUR a year. With the Pro promotion of 11.10.2026 (two months free), Xolo costs 1,390 EUR in the first year.
How did we check these figures?
We read the Xolo pricing page and the Xolo FAQ pages listed below on 11.10.2026. We kept the facts the pages state, and left out what they do not state per plan. Prices change: check the pages of each provider before you decide. If a figure here is out of date, tell us and we will correct the page.
Conclusion
For a company that already exists, Oscar does the usual month for less: 49 EUR a month on the monthly plan. That price includes unlimited sales invoices, up to 100 purchase invoices, payroll and the salary tax declaration (TSD) for up to 3 employees, the VAT return and the annual report. Oscar reads a connected bank account every day while the company is active. You can also work on your books from your own tools: through the MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, through the REST API, or with Ask AI in the app. On 11.10.2026 the Xolo pages we checked list none of these three. A company that invests, holds a subsidiary or owns real estate stays on the same 49 EUR plan; in Leap, investments start with Pro, and a controlling share and real estate are not allowed as investments.
In the worked example, a company with 1 employee pays 49 EUR a month at Oscar and 139 EUR at Xolo Leap Pro: 1,080 EUR a year less at Oscar.
Xolo Leap is the better choice for a founder who still has to register the company, needs a legal address in Estonia, or sells goods through the e-commerce channels it supports.
